I think we all can agree that educational system follows the belief that the curriculum should allow each student to reach their full potential of intellectual, emotional, and physical growth.
The first two seem to be constantly analyzed and improved year to year, but the physical aspect not only doesn't follow this trend, it seems that educators are actually pushing it off the bill. It is my own personal belief that school is one of the biggest components in creating well-rounded citizens and people in general. The easiest way to look at the requirements for this goal is to have:
1. A healthy mind
2. A healthy social/emotional status
3. A healthy body
When my elementary students run into my gym class and beg that I allow them to do burpees, suicides, and push-ups, I know first hand that children crave the same physical attention that they receive intellectually in school. We as educators cannot ignore, and certainly cannot eliminate the kinesthetic outlets provided in a school. In this website I address multiple ways this learning style can be incorporated throughout the day, as well as the many positive outcomes it has on the students.
